Post Re: New Kombi workshop
I picked that one up for nix - it actually came out out of a house I rented for a while when I first moved to Goulburn - It had fallen apart :o

A the main purpose of the fire is to heat water to pump through the slab Im looiking into modifying a instant gas hot water heater and running it off waste oil.

Though at the momnet I have got myself tied up trying to repaint the kombi so all other projects are on hold at least for the next few weeks.

well so much for building the shed and stuff.

I moved house just before christmas andthe new place didnt have a decent shed so back to the drawing board agsain

I learnt a few things from the first one....

#1 Build it bigger
#2 IF you want it done right - do it yourself (atleast if its not right you have no right to complain ;))

Well having done it once already you can learn from that and as you said, make it bigger and better!

I'm have to say I'm supprised how much work goes into building a shed :o

All the little fiddly bits just seem to take forever.

I have the front wall now sheeted up and all the door frames done. Sunday I hope to get the roof on :cheersarm

Hey OG!

I was just wondering the other day what happened to you!

I have a Kombi and a beetle to rebuild so that's all to go in the new shed :o

I roped one of my brothers in today and we put in a massive effort and got the roof up. If we were just just putting the sheets up but I went for r1.3 builders blanket/ sarking which had to have wire mesh put underneath it to hold it all together.

I still have a lot more screws to put in but it is now (hopefully ) rain proof and the slab will get a chance to dry out ready for painting soon!

sounds great Bernie, hopefully a little warmer than the last shed! There is something about building your own and that achievement that comes with it ...its a great feeling! I haven't been on here for ages. I moved just recently too and now have a 1/4 acre , so far have started a veg patch 7 x 8 m so I will get into the swing of GF once again , hope you are keeping well .. by the way what model kombi are you doing up atm?

Very good Tracey. You'll be busy in the garden again :thumbright

I've got a 74 Kombi to get stuck into ( actually it was the first Kombi I ever bought) and a '75 beetle for my daughter.
The beetle will take priority as Nat gets her L's in a couple of months :shock
