Post New Kombi workshop
Ok I know this isnt quiet garden related but work has FINALLY begun on my new Kombi workshop!!!
Just got to wait for the inspector to inspect whatever it is they inspect at this stage and I can begin laying the tubing for the inslab heating!
Yes inslab heating in the garage. I've had enough of laying on cold concrete to work on the kombis so solar heated slab sounds like a great idea!!

Ive been away for work the last few days and got home today to find taht the inspector has been and checked out the progress and the result was

Complete the works below and request a further re-inspection prior to proceeding!

Cannot Tell whether garage is off easement need survey report on set out of garage to ensure clear of easement. ( whats wrong with using a tape measure?)
Piers along western side of fence need to be deeper (um hello Im building a shed not a fence)

Existing gaden shed should not be located on easement needs to be relocated. So should chook shed (yeah Im getting a garage built so I can pul down the garden shed that has been sitting where it is for the last 5 years the chook house is a box that sits on the ground whats the problem)

So no chance of gettin that sorted this week so yet another weeks delay infact it will be at least another 2 weeks as I have other things planned for next week end already.

needles to say - NOT HAPPY!

Might be time to pull the pin on the completeion of the shed - sell my house and buy some land out of town and build the shed there

Post Re: New Kombi workshop
yes Councils, they once wanted me to pay them to check that to see if my house was "too" close to the boundry???

the problems was I was building my house square to the road instead of down the block like most people do, the problem being I had 3/8 acre instead of the normal 1/4 acre block, so one end of the house was 5 metres and the other end 15 from the boundary, so even if the builder got it "wrong" by 1 metre either way, I was still greater than the 600mm I was allowed.

another council did not like the size of the proposed shed, 200 square metres, so they asked me to think about having a smaller shed, I agreed at the meeting they asked me to attend to discuss its size. The only thing they did not know was the Mayor had already told me that the council had a "policy" that any individual only "needed" 90 square metre for a shed to fit their hobby in. It was already documented that I had 5 hobbies, so I asked the planning premit to be modified to be 3 shed instead of 1 and each of these shed to be 90 square metres each. They were not impressed, but decided they did not have a leg to stand on, so allowed me to have my 200 square metre shed. Just a note, this was on over 7 acres of land.

So I totally understand your problems, good luck

It is realy a big pest!

I normaly do EVERYTHING myself but I hate dealing with government stuff so I figgured I would bit et the bullet and just get the shed rto people to buld my shed and I would pay them.

I just wanted a bit of time to tie the tubing in for the heating and the shed to appear in the back yard.

then as the process has gone on Ive had to do all the pain in the but runing around to satisfy the council which was what I didnt want to do :(

Oh well hopefully by Christmas it might be finnished
