Post Incubator
I have claimed a bar fridge that no longer works as I though the casing would be good for an incubator. Has anyone home brewed their own incubator? Any hints?

Fabulous Idea it will insulate well. I have used glass door bar fridges and commercial fridges for yearsd now as brooders (Im too lazy to not have an autoturn Im afraid.
Basically you need to have a thermostat and a very reliable heat source also a humidity type thermometer is important. A lot of this you can get from Tandy Dick smith.
Turn it on a week before you have eggs to settle it in.
Possibly think about turning shelves you can buy them and gee wizz they save alot of work!
I have found snake enclosures thermostats and lamps are cheaper than chooky ones - they must think us guys have more monet than reptile lovers!!!

It's a great idea although in summer because it's so well insulated it will struggle with not getting too hot.
2 x 60w light globes would do the trick for heat source, control those with a thermostat, plenty available on eBay.
Then pop a 4l ice-cream tub full of water in the incubator with the lid on, and cut a hole in the lid, making it bigger until it sits on around 50 percent humidity.
