Post Allergies - blood test results back.
Oh boy, did I score a ripper when I bought Radar. Apart from the epsm I have had him tested for allergies.

His blood test results are back. He is allergic to 28 different allergens - including grasses, weeds, trees, foods, insects and grains.
Predominantly though it is common microscopic fungi that he is allergic to and or their spores :x .

Any one else had problems with a horse with allergies of these types.

I have no doubt the mozzies/flies are contributing to his exposure to the fungi. I have him covered in a cotton flag combo (guess what!... he's allergic to cotton too  ) a full fly mask with ear covering which is helping a considerable amount.

Left his rugs and mask off for one day/night and the damage he has done to himself is so distressing. Just rubbed himself raw, that will teach me, never again.
Any advice or support appreciated.

Oh bugger that is pretty much a jackpot of everything that he could be allergic too!
I'm really sorry to hear that, i'll ask around our horsey friends and see what comes up!

the poor thing. Not much options for him there! I wonder if there is the horsey equivalent of a naturopath? It sounds like a holistic approach is needed here.
