Post Eyeworm treatment.
Hi Folks
I have a chook who has an eye problem. It's as though the cornea (the external part of the eye) is filled with fluid. The lense (dark spot) is like it's being pushed back into the skull. The eye is a bit foamy at the corner as well, and I suspect it may be an eyeworm (an examination tomorrow in the daylight might reveal more). I've read that you can use ivermectin diluted with cooking oil applied to the eye, but has anyone had this problem and tried this remedy before?
Thanking you
ChookFarmer

I've not come across it in our flock but you got me intere├čted so I had a bit of a look around and as you have mentioned most of the treatments revolve around ivermectin diluted in water or oil and applied in the eye / near the eye / holding the chook upside down applying it to the roof of the mouth - the ivermectin can migrate through the sinus'.
Along with manually removing the worms :puker:
From wht I've read id go for the eye application.

Hope it works out well
