Post Re: Wanting to buy some Goats pls but need advice
Oh dear, what are we getting ourselves into

Well found a couple - not the number we were after but....................
2 x miniture boys, desexed, were bottle-fed babies, much loved, use dog kennels for night shelter, she seems to be really sad to have found them a new home - but I hope we are giving them a good home .............

so they are coming this weekend.

We have a week old calf, 3 day old calf and three more about to arrive - reckon the boys might like 'playmates' around their height????
Will that keep them close to home and not wandering around other properties?

Also these guys have to have NLIS tags in dont they? And come from a PIC property?
Better check with their 'previous' mum.
We would have to complete a NVD/TSS for them too?

Sounds like we are going to have plenty of postings for GBY after this weekend :r

Yes we do need NLIS tags in ears, we do need PIC from where they are coming and we do need TSS (at least)

Well hat off to LHPA – the seller not having a PIC wasnt a huge deal.

LHPA have provided a work around since the person who currently has the goats is on residential, and once the goats are gone – that’s the end of their “livestock”.

We have a NVD supported and agreed to by LHPA. Emailed through already.
We have on order 2 x pink ear tags with our PIC number (pink for replacement tag for goats and sheep)

So all is OK, and legal to bring the little ones home Whhooooaaaaaaa 

guzzigirl - fingers crossed its not one of those decisions (regrets :drunk ) :D

I don't have a big property but i help a friend who does and he has feral goats which have come form a neighbouring property
They are damaging all of his fences by lifting up the wire from the bottom

All i can suggest is the you run a single string of barb wire across the bottom of the fence to stop this
Cheers
