Yesterday at aldi i spotted peanut plants, and as i had never seen a peanut plant before i decided to give it a go! If it goes well, i may consider getting more, but does anyone know about collecting seeds from a legume? Cos i have no idea whatsoever so i'm gonna need help on this one.. :P are the peanuts the seeds? O.o

To harvest you will need to dig the peanuts up as they grow on the roots, these are the 'seeds' and should look like store bought peanuts with the shells still on. Can't help with when as I haven't grown one before ...
They are nitrogen fixers apparently so grow amongst your leafy greens.

My other half use to live on a peanut farm in QLD. Up there they pulled up the plants in April, left the nuts to dry for a few weeks then collected and bagged them in May.
