Post Thanks Cai and Em!
Ham and Bacon joined us today, they're going to turn over some garden beds for me and then be appreciated in other ways :D

Cai, you'll be interested to know that the alpacas ran up to the pigs' yard, alerted, then turned and ran for the other end of the paddock where they kept watch  Big babies...

OMG the bacon was superb! I was expecting it to be great, but YUM! The flavour was amazing and Em was spot on, a lot of the fat rendered away and left the yummy bits nice and crispy...

:cheersarm

Glad it was enjoyed, it certainly makes a delightful change from shop bought bacon :)

The boys went up to the abattoir today, so looking forward to some roast pork later this week and bacon and ham next week :D

Pursuading them to get on the horse float this morning was hilarious (for anyone watching, I'd say), but they took the loading, the trip and unloading with no worries - phew!

Excellent news that you managed to load them up we have had some rather hilarious in hindsight experiences with our pigs too... :)
How are the other two settling in, less escaping now?

We've had the new girls in an escape proof yard - we'll move them into their paddock on the weekend and see how much chasing we have to do  although they've certainly settled in well.
