Great idea for keeping the birds off fruit trees- does it work for cockatoos and Galah's I wonder?
When i was a girl, and we were really REALLY poor in the sydney suburbs my dad kept pigeons for meat. Very yummy.

Amazing idea - cannot bear pigeons - winged vermin but white doves I may be able to make an exception for! And if they lived out in the paddock with the trees that should get them away from the home.

Hmmm I lose my pears every year to the cocky's, pink and greys or the red-tail blacks... Not sure the wife would go for a flock of pigeons but, regardless of how tasty they are :rolle Might try covering the trees with netting this year....

a friend got the best crop of cherries ever one year when a turtleneck dove nested in it that year. She kept all the other birds away!
