Post I'm cooking quinces !
We have approx 9 very large healthy quince trees on our farm which are now ripening.

Currently I have a large pot full on the stove stewing and they taste great. On of our farming contractors is a chef (having a seachange) and he gave me some great idea's on what to do with them.

I've also put 2 large boxes full of them out the here at home and they're nearly all gone. Obviously I have some neighbours who like them too.

Anyone else use / like quinces and have any recipes to share?

I might bring photo's back tomorrow.

I'd like to hear some of the ideas that your contractor suggests :)

Quince pie - similar to apple. Would have been nice if I'd added some sultana's I think.
I put a fancy pastry top on it and forgot to photograph it once it was cooked. :|

I don't have the recepie but quince jam is pretty good.
I'm sure it would not be hard to make it up as go.

Yum! My geese killed my new quince tree, so have ordered some new ones from Woodbridge orchard. Can't wait for home grown quinces.

Went to the Loriendale orchard apple day on the weekend, and picked up some gorgeous quince and honey fruit leather :)
