Thanks for that Aurora. Great advice, :thumbright I'll give it a go on my dwarf this weekend. While it gets leaf curl on a few of the early leaves, I then get lush healthy growth following. I doubt I'll have any luck with fruit unless I treat it though.

It won't stop raining here so I can't apply it :( Yes jay this now explains the spotted fruit we used to get from our nectarines at our old house! And they fall off before they ripen and I could never understand why - put it down to not watering correctly.

Thanks Aurora, my peach tree pair (they were planted together but not by me) had it bad last year and I didn't realize until it was too late. This year I had my copper and white oil on hand to treat at bud swell but got delayed repeated wind, rain and injury (mine not the tees).

Interestingly, there are not as many curled leaves as last year - I wonder if the drought could be responsible for that?

Hi dextormooz

you will find that a mild & wet/damp will increase the chances of leaf curl coming on in a big way.

Drought and dry weather will slow it down or completely knock it back.

Cheers

I don't do anything when I see leaf curl on my peaches or nectarines. Sure, it looks terrible there for a while but then new leaves form and fruit sets well.

I think leaf curl is more detrimental to very young trees.

I think the trees don't produce as well if they have leaf curl. A lot of energy would go into a new set a leaves, and the fungus would affect the fruiting buds as well.

Hey Guzzgirl,

What you say may well be true. From my experience, I was overwhelmed with peaches and nectarines even when my trees had leaf curl. So the thought of harvesting even more would have been l little mind-boggling!
