Post Re: Tomatoes
We have a massive amount of toms that have been sitting around since they ripened because we didn't do anything with them, but I'm taking action and making a soup this afternoon.
My tomato plants have gone completely feral but nothing is ripening, my canberra garden had an OK harvest but the cooma garden was near useless.

Bit of a disappointment I must say.

thats a bummer immi

the cooler weather is to blame -Toms need lots of heat and sun to ripen.

Good luck with the soup

Hello Immi

Green tomato chutney is a good idea if you have lots of green tomatoes. Every time I make a curry I add a couple of tablespoons of green tomato chutney.

There is a recepie here somewhere for pickled green tomatoes. Absolutely dilicious.

I was pulling my aquaponics appart last night and found hanging down the back of the grow bed two recently ripened toms :thumbright

Try this out: Drinking tomato juice daily will give the body ample vitamins and minerals which include vitamins A and C. Vitamins A & C strengthens the body’s immune system, it also improves the vision and prevents glaucoma and other ocular diseases.

Ingredients
3 cups chopped tomatoes
1 stalk celery
1 cucumber
3 drops stevia (optional)
1/2 teaspoon himalaya sea salt
pepper
cayenne pepper

Directions

Juice the tomatoes, celery, cucumber in your juicer.
Add drops stevia if you like a sweeter taste, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to taste.
If you like you can also add a 1/4 onion, fresh oregano and basil and red bell pepper
